This is the place where First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson, was born and raised. Wythe County was named for the first signer of the Declaration of Independence for Virginia, George Wythe. It is a beautiful town in the Blue Ridge Mountains, with lots of farmland and hiking opportunitues. Very calming! I especially like Beagle Ridge where they raise butterflies, from caterpillars to butterflies! They also make their own lotions and soaps and everything smells of Lavender. Last day here. Tomorrow we'll be leaving for Winchester, VA. Hier wurde die Frau von President Woodrow Wilson geboren. Wythe County wurde nach George Wythe benannt, der als erster die Deklaration of Independence fuer Virginia unterschrieb. Es ist eine sehr schoene Gegend in den Blue Mountains, mit viel Landwirtschaft und wunderbaren Wandergebieten. Man kann sich hier gut ausruhen! Ich mag vor allem Blue Ridge, wo Caterpillars zu Schmetterlingen aufgezogen werden. Alles riecht nac...

Hall of fame, Museum of Appalachia: My favorite faces! Every age has it's beauty. Meine Lieblingsgesichter im Appalachia Museum: Jedes Alter hat seine Schoenheit.

Last day. Went to see the Museum (which is more like a Homestead) to show the history of the Appalachia people. Great place to visit! Peacocks were running around, not shy at all, lunch was wonderful (much is harvested on the premises) and the preservation of the buildings and tools simply awesome. Beautiful place! Letzter Tag hier. Besuchten das Appalachia Museum, das mehr wie eine Kleinstadt aufgebaut ist. Pfaue sind nicht scheu und laufen ueberall herum, unser Mittagessen war eine Wucht (Gemuese aus dem eigenen Garten und alles frisch zubereitet), der Aufbau und die Wiederherstellung der Gebaeude und Preservation der hiesigen Geschichte einzigartig. Ein wunderschoenes Anwesen!
