Helgatrip2019

Well, we hit a beautiful RV park that is mainly occupied by regular club members. Two pools, one for adults, one for kids, a third pool with slides, a lake and gentle hills. Really pretty and I have no excuse for not adding pictures other than lazyness. We have been in this area before and do enjoy the Pocono mountains. A short visit but relaxing and enjoyable. Wir hatten Glueck und haben einen tollen Campingplatz erwischt, der ueberwiegend von regelmaessigen Clubmembern bevoelkert ist. Zwei Schwimmbaeder, eins fuer Erwachsene, eins fuer Kinder, ein weiteres nur fuer Wasserrutschen, ein See und sanfte Huegel. Sehr schoen! Und warum habe ich nicht fotografiert? Reinste Faulheit! Wir waren schon in dieser Gegend und moegen die Pocono Berglandschaft. Ein kurzer Besuch, aber erholsam und gemuetlich.

We are on our way back to Florida. Two nights stop here, enough time to kick back, do laundry, and hopefully start painting again. The place has a heated pool and is clean but it lacks cozyness. The offce is being rebuilt, there is no store and our site is too close to the next RV. Not my thing. Would be a good place to ride my bicycle around but it is HOT. Miss the cooler air already. Had quite a storm last night that left us without power. But it reminded me (don't know why) that we will not be visiting the Ark after all. Checked it out online and  did not like the price for a tour on it. Ah well, may be next time. Wir sind auf dem Rueckweg nach Florida. Bleiben zwei Naechte hier, genug Zeit zum Waesche waschen und hoffe, wieder anzufangen mit dem Malen. Der Platz hier hat ein geheiztes Schwimmbad und alles ist sauber, aber es hat keinen Scharm. Das Buero ist im Umbau, es hat keinen Laden und unser Platz ist zu eng fuer mich. Man koennte gut Fahrradfahren aber es ist zu

Spent a week in New Hampshire at Moose Hillock Camping Resort with the largest heated pool in north east of the USA. Not that we needed a heated pool this year since it was hot enough but it could have gone the other way. We had an enourmous camping site, surrounded by raspberry bushes, and only a few kilometers from our family reunion place. It was so much fun! Dad, who is turning 94 this year, had a good day and was well taking care by family. So fun reconnecting with family members, especially the young ones, which we had not seen in years. Had a great time! Verbrachten eine Woche in New Hampshire, Moose Hill Camping Resort, mit dem groessten geheizten Schwimmbad im Nordosten von den USA. Toller riesiger Platz mit Himbeerbueschen um uns herum. Und nur ein paar Kilometer entfernt hatten wur unser Familienfest. Hatten Zeit fuer Vater Letourneau, der 94 wird in diesem Jahr, und fuer Verwandte, die wir seit Jahren nicht sahen. War eine tolle Zeit!

Yarmouth ME clam and lobster festival: Just a few miles from Freeport ME. Did a lot of walking and enjoyed the activities, but decided to have our last lobster and clam roll in a restaurant in Freeport. Gained at least 5 lbs during our stay in Maine and should be happy to leave lobster and heavy cream and butter plus wine behind. 😭 Starting tomorrow we will be in NH for a while, meeting up with family for a week. Annual campweek which we decided to join this year. Yarmouth ME: Muschel und Hummer Fest: Sind viel herumgelaufen und haben Kunstwerke und Festaktivitaeten genossen, doch hatten unsere letzten Muschel und Hummerbroetchen in einem Restaurant in Freeport. Habe mindestens 5 Pfund zugenommen seitdem wir in Maine sind und sollte gluecklich sein Hummer und Sahne und Butter plus Wein hinter mich zu bringen. 😭 Ab Morgen sind wir in NH und treffen uns mit Familie, die ihr jaehrliches Camptreffen in NH gebucht haben. Sind in diesem Jahr mit dabei.

On one side United States of America, across the bridge Canada. A lovely, sleepy little town (stores open at 11), with a view of the lighthouse in Canada and playing seals in the water between the two countries. I counted nine seals but I am sure there were more of them. It was a delight watching them jump and play.  My new favorite meal is Haddock chowder, with lots of cream and butter. Healthy=questionable, but tasty and delicious. Eine Seite die USA, gegenueber Kanada. Ein netter, verschlafener Ort (die Laeden machen um 11 Uhr auf), mit Blick auf den in Kanada liegenden Leuchtturm und im Wasser dazwischen tummeln sich die Robben. Ich habe neun gezaehlt, doch es waren sicher mehr. Es hat sich gelohnt ihnen zuzuschauen.  Mein neues Lieblingsessen ist jetzt Barschsuppe, mit viel Sahne und Butter. We arrived in Eastport and could not have picked a more beautiful place. Leaving the front curtains on the RV open and looking out to the Atlantic bay. Stunning view! Eastport and Lubec are the most eastern towns in the US. Little fishing towns with much flair and history. Lobster and haddock are on the menue everywhere. We love it! Tonight we steamed our own lobster at the camping site. This plus a salad and a glass of white wine makes for a 5 star meal. Touring Lubec tomorrow. Wir sind in Eastport angekommen and haetten uns keinen schoeneren Platz aussuchen koennen. Lassen die Vorhaenge im Wohnwagen vorn offen und schauen direkt auf den Atlantik. Einmalige Aussicht, ein Traum! Eastport und Lubec sind die am oestlichsten gelegenen Orte in den US. Es sind kleine Fischereiorte mit viel Charakter und Geschichte. Lobster und haddock (Schellfisch? Barsch?) sind ueberall auf den Speisekarten. Wir sind gluecklich und es schmeckt! Heute Abend duensten wir unseren eigenen Hummer am Cam
